As I sat in my car waiting for the hotel manager to arrive, I noticed this old lady sitting there quietly and I couldn't help myself from observing her....It seemed her place to have a moment to herself with Padre Pio. At the end, she went over to kiss the statue and to talk to him...to touch him as though he were real and to kiss him again...and be off on her way. We have 11 days in Puglia..today we arrived in Martina Franca, Puglia, Italy (Nov 6, 2011) Note:The town has a particularly beautiful "old city" surrounded by stone walls with prominent Baroque gates leading to piazzas and narrow, winding streets. Piazza di Roma is the largest open space in the old city, with a greenspace in the center of a largely triangular grass pattern, facing the 17th century Palazzo Ducale.
