The coast is rocky in the territory of the Navy and is characterized by two sandy coves (north and south of the port). In the inlet north are some rocks with size from one to thirty meters. The most famous is called Scoglio eight because of its characteristic shape. It is a fishing village, inhabited mainly during the summer period. The stretch of Adriatic sea that washes the coast of San Foca has shallow and rocky at times. Sandy patches enable the development of a prairie of Posidonia wide enough, the leaves are stacked from the sea along the shores in large schools brown. On the rocks at shallow depths reigns Cystoseira and large concentrations of Ulva and Enteromorpha , seaweed like water charges is particularly nitrogenous salts.
